Let Worship be your Weapon

One fall morning back in 2021, I remember walking through a spiritually dry season. I was entering my third year of Bible College, wondering if all that God had for me would ever come to pass. I was doing my apprenticeship at a local church in Edmonton on the worship team. I began to wrestle with the call of God on my life. I started to doubt wondering if I was a good worship leader. The way that I led felt bleak and not genuine. The devil tried to put hinderances in my life preventing me to genuinely praise God. I never felt the lyrics that I was singing, I was in a rough spot and worship leading became difficult. But that suddenly changed during soundcheck before the service. The Lord spoke to me on the stage as we were running through the first song, He said, "you aren't doing it for them, you're doing it for me. I want you to praise and magnify my name. That's what breaks the hinderances that satan is trying to use". When I heard that, it changed my whole perspective on the way that I led. Not only the way I sang changed, but my confidence changed too. Worship isn't about planning a perfect setlist for Sunday, nor is it about being perfect. It's about leading with anointing and being obedient to the Holy Spirit's leading. That's what worship is all about.

Don't fall into a place where you end up worshipping how good the beat of the drums sound or how good the music is, that will lead you in a place where you end up worshipping the song or the beat of the music. That is a dangerous place to be in. When we worship, we need to humble our hearts and pray that God will move in and though our life. Release what your holding unto and lay it down before Him. Praise Him in your storm! Even when it doesn't make sense, don't worship the music, worship JESUS. Allow Him to work in and through your life <3

Worship is warfare.

Worship is our weapon.

Worship is genuine praise.

Worship breaks down hinderance and attacks of satan.

The devil absolutely hates it when we worship Jesus, because he knows that praise destroys him. Worship is our weapon of defence that we must take ahold of daily, not just on Sunday services or youth/young adults nights, but everyday of the week. The enemy will try on all occasions to get you distracted so you won't praise Jesus for all that He is. There's power in praise, there's power when we worship Him. When I think about worship, Im reminded of the story in Joshua 6 when the Israelites marched around the walls of Jericho. Joshua was a mighty man of faith, he led the Israelites into the promised land. But when Joshua took procession of the land, he still had to fight 31 battles (Joshua 12).

Before the wall of Jericho fell, God commanded them to march around the wall once for six days, then on the seventh day, they marched around the wall seven times blowing trumpets and making music unto the Lord. Joshua then gave the command to shout! And the Israelites shouted as loud as they could. The walls that once stood automatically fell. They then were able to take possesion of the land that the Lord promised them. It took persistence, patience, obedience, warfare, and unwavering faith on their part, but the best part in all this was that breakthrough happened!! They were able to step into the promise God had for them. It wasn't easy, it took a long journey, but they overcame! And so can you.

You see, in life we face many Jericho walls. You might be facing a Jericho wall right now in your season of life. You've probably thought, "I don't know if I can make it through this", "This is impossible", or, "God where are you!?" But I want to encourage you for a moment, have you ever thought this whole time God was wispering in your ear saying , "praise me", "maginify my name in spite of your situation", "That's what breaks the hinderance of the enemy". God desires all His people to worship Him even when it's hard or dosen't always make sense. I want to speak over your life today that you will step into the promises that God has for your life. You will take possession of all that God has promised you in Jesus name! I rebuke every single delay in the precious name of Jesus!!

Let worship be your weapon. Praise Him in all things. Stop letting offence, unbelief, bitterness, and anxiety rob you of your worship unto God! You were made for more. Walk in His promises today and continually glorify Him. I pray that you will step into your promised land sooner than you think. Praise Him even before breakthrough comes and genuinely worship Him. Your wall of Jericho will fall and you will see the fruit of your obedience <3

"For God is Spirit, and His worshippers must worship Him in Spirit and in Truth" (John 4:24)

"Ascribe to the Lord, the glory due His name; worship the Lord in the splendour of holiness" (Psalm 29:2).

" This is the Lord's sign to you that the Lord will do what He has promised" (Isaiah 38:7).

"Be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. Put on the full armour of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world, and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms" (Ephesians 6: 10-12).

I pray that you will be fully devoted in all that you do for the Lord! Don't give up, God sees you and will continue to lead you every step of the way. Your Jericho wall does not define you or your situation! Praise your way to victory in the name of Jesus! Breakthrough doesn’t start by the change in circumstance, it starts by the change in your heart. Posture your heart towards the Lord ♥️
