Jesus Blood Speaks A Better Word

Hi everyone, 

Today, I wanted to take a different approach on my blog. During this week, I have been reminded about how Jesus' blood speaks a better word over you, and how we as the body of Christ have been forgiven. Now that today is Good Friday, I would like to share some reasons why Jesus' blood is so important. 

1: Our debt has been paid

Jesus took on the sins of the world by dying on the cross in order to give us life. Jesus knew our state and knew all our thoughts and actions. When He was hung on the cross, He cried out, "Tetelestai." Meaning, it is finished (John 19:30). Jesus took on our place as sinners. Bearing the sins that He knew we would all face (1 Peter 2:24, 1:18-19). This shows the importance of God's grace and mercy for us. Jesus has rescued us out of the kingdom of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of His light (Colossians 1:13). 

2: Jesus' Blood frees us from Satan's hold on our lives

In 1 Corinthians 10:4-5, it says, "for the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ." It is important for you to know that satan does not have authority over you. You belong to Jesus. In Christ we have the authority to rebuke every lie and doubt that satan will try to throw at you. You have the authority to come out of agreement with satan's tactics because you don't belong to him. In this verse, Paul was facing spiritual warfare, he knew that he couldn't overcome the battle physically. He had to fully depend on Christ, because false teachers were judging him and stirring up division in the church by questioning Paul's authority. Paul knew that he was covered in Jesus' strength in the midst of hardship. We have to know that the same applies for us. You are covered in Jesus' strength and, and the blood covers you! His blood sets you free!

3: You are forgiven

Ephesians 1:7 states, " In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace." This verse represents our identity in Jesus. Showing that we belong to Him, His grace is overflowing and abundant for us. Now, Jesus' grace for us does not mean to compromise on issues that are sinful and slap the word 'grace' on it. Jesus exposes sin for a reason, and through that alone shows us how much we need Him. We need Jesus. I want to encourage you to stop trying to figure life out on your own; stop trying to go after things other than the Lord. God is calling you to come home. He is a loving and forgiving God ready to receive you with open arms. He is not asking you to have your life altogether, He is not asking you to be perfect, He simply asks you to take up your cross and follow Him (Matthew 16:24). Jesus told His disciples to totally surrender and keep their relationship with Him first. Jesus needs to be above our plans. And even when we get sidetracked at times, He forgives us. His blood speaks abetter word over your life, symbolizing that your debt has been paid, frees you from satan's power, and that you are forgiven! No matter what your past may look like, Jesus loves you and desires a relationship with you. You no longer have to stay bound to sin, Jesus paid the ultimate price so we could spend eternity with Him. Our hope is in Jesus who is beyond the grave and the author and finisher of our faith.
