Women of Worth

Hi! My name is Sarah-Lynn, and I'm here because God has given me a message to share, and I have faith it will speak to those reading this blog. My testimony is that God saved me: I grew up going to Church but lived a prodigal life for 10 years. After battling with what I believed in, God made Himself real in my life when I felt His presence in my room. He was real to me again, I dedicated the rest of my days to serving Him and trusting Him. I left behind all bondage that I had. Addictions, and relationships, lying, anger, and bitterness. And here I am, He is still chipping away at parts of me that do not produce fruit.

Today we are talking about worthiness,

Worthiness: Not something we can earn out of striving, but is something that God gives us out of His Grace. As a woman with a complex testimony, I have to admit there are times where I battle with shame, doubt, and feelings of being unworthy of love. Like me, there are dozens of women in the scriptures where they not only culturally less than others, But their testimonies stated that they were not worthy to be used as they were.

Sarah: Was unable to have children which deemed her "shameful" according to the culture of that era. She doubted Gods promise to her and Abraham; and manipulitated her servant to get the "blessing." However, God's plan to give Abraham many children prevailed through Sarah's womb. Abraham now stands as the figure of faith in God bringing salvation, and with him stands Sarah, who brought Issac into the world. Exodus 18:14 says, "Is anything too hard for the LORD? I will return about this time next year and Sarah will have a son."

The Samaritian woman: A woman who had been married 5 times. Culturally, the men could divorce their wives for something so small as a burnt loaf of bread. She carried shame of her past, she viewed herself as unworthy of love. Then she met Jesus at the well, He revealed to her the true Spirit of worship, pointing to His resurrection. Through Jesus telling her that He was the Messiah, revival broke out in Samaria! In John 4:21 Jesus replies, "Believe me, dear woman, the time is coming when it will no longer matter weather you worship the Father on this mountain or in Jeursalem."

Ruth: A Moabite woman who was childless and had lost her husband. A woman who refused to return to the gods of her pagan country. But vowed to serve the God of the Israelities. A gentile who was rejected by her husband's nearest relative but accepted by Boaz. Blessed with the security and provision by God, and later being a direct relative of the Messiah! Ruth 2:12 says, "May the Lord, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to take refuge, reward you fully for what you have done."

Each of these women carries her own weight of a story which marked them as unworthy, less than, and not enough. But in each story Jesus sees a valuable heart. One that was made to walk in the cool of the day with Him. Today, we may be carrying our own burdens. Shame, fear, guilt, and even jealousy. But we must remember that we have access to our loving Father who sees us as valuable. He sees us as a blessing to His kingdom. Even when we feel these heavy emotions, God is not afraid. He isn't mad, but He is open. Ready to recieve you with open arms. Waiting for you to give Him what is His. Worship Him today for He is waiting for you. He loves you. He sees your situation and He isn't afraid of it.

" And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows." - Matthew 10:30-31

I have a huge passion for God, teaching the Bible and missions. I will be going on my first ever missions trip to Uganda this June where I'll be helping in children's ministry, prison ministry, street evangelism, and more!
